Brahmā said: Having thus spoken in many ways, Jagadambikā (Satī), filled with anger, remained there—her heart burning within.
Brahma
Tattva Level: pashu
Shakti Form: Satī
Role: teaching
It shows how inner pain arises when dharma and devotion are dishonored; Satī, the cosmic Mother, embodies the intensity of bhakti and the refusal to tolerate adharma directed at Śiva, pointing to the Shaiva ideal of unwavering allegiance to Pati (Śiva) over worldly ties.
Satī’s burning heart is rooted in devotion to Śiva as the supreme Lord; in Saguna worship—especially of the Liṅga—one protects the sanctity of Śiva’s honor and presence, treating insult to Śiva’s form and devotees as spiritually destructive.
A practical takeaway is to stabilize the mind through japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) when anger and grief arise, and to return to Śiva-centered discernment (viveka) rather than reactive speech.
