सतीकृतप्रार्थना तथा परतत्त्वजिज्ञासा — Satī’s Prayer and Inquiry into the Supreme Principle
मंगलामंगलं यद्यत्करोतीतीश्वरो हि मे । सर्वं तन्मंगलायेति विश्वासः सख्यलक्षणम्
maṃgalāmaṃgalaṃ yadyatkarotītīśvaro hi me | sarvaṃ tanmaṃgalāyeti viśvāsaḥ sakhyalakṣaṇam
Whether my Lord (Īśvara, Śiva) brings about what seems auspicious or inauspicious, I am certain that all of it is for my highest good. Such unwavering trust is the very mark of true friendship with Śiva.
Satī (addressing/reflecting on Lord Śiva as her Lord and friend)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Īśāna
Significance: Cultivates sakhya-bhāva grounded in īśvara-niyati: even ‘inauspicious’ events are read as Śiva’s pedagogy—concealment (tirodhāna) that ultimately matures into grace (anugraha).
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Satī
Role: nurturing
It teaches sakhya-bhakti toward Śiva: the devotee trusts that even seemingly adverse events are arranged by Īśvara for purification, grace, and the soul’s movement toward liberation.
Linga/Saguṇa worship trains the mind to see Śiva as the intimate Lord behind all outcomes; this verse expresses that mature devotion where every result is accepted as Śiva’s benevolent ordinance.
Practice daily japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and conclude pūjā with an attitude of śaraṇāgati (surrender), mentally offering both pleasure and pain at Śiva’s feet as equally grace-filled.
