वरं ब्रूहि वरं ब्रूहि प्राहेति स पुनर्द्रुतम् । सतीभक्तिवशश्शंभुरंतर्यामी सतां गतिः
varaṃ brūhi varaṃ brūhi prāheti sa punardrutam | satībhaktivaśaśśaṃbhuraṃtaryāmī satāṃ gatiḥ
Again and again, he quickly said, “Speak your boon—speak your boon!” For Śambhu, though the Inner Ruler of all, becomes responsive to Satī’s devotion; he is the refuge and final goal of the righteous.

It highlights that Shiva, the indwelling Lord (antaryāmī) and ultimate refuge (gati), willingly responds to sincere bhakti—showing that grace is accessed through devotion and purity of intent.
Though Shiva is transcendent as the inner Self of all, devotees approach him in a personal, gracious form (Śambhu). This supports Saguna worship—such as Linga-pūjā—where heartfelt devotion draws Shiva’s compassionate response.
The verse implies bhakti-centered sādhana: daily Shiva worship with mantra-japa (especially the Panchakshara “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and prayerful asking aligned with dharma, trusting Shiva’s grace as the devotee’s refuge.
