FAQs

It praises Shiva as the supreme Pati—both the all-overseeing Lord (sarvādhyakṣa) and the bestower of grace (sarvadā), acknowledging His transcendence as Puruṣa and His immanence as the ground of manifested reality.

By saluting Shiva as both the supreme Conscious Principle (Puruṣa) and the power behind manifestation (mūla-prakṛti), the verse supports Linga worship as a saguna focus that leads the devotee toward the nirguna Supreme through devotion and right understanding.

Use this as a namaskāra-mantra in daily Shiva-pūjā—reciting it with the Panchākṣarī ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya"), offering water or bilva leaves to the Liṅga, and meditating on Shiva as the inner witness and giver of grace.
