दक्षस्य प्रजावृद्ध्युपायः — Dakṣa’s Means for Increasing Progeny
ब्रह्मोवाच । दक्षः प्रजापतिर्गत्वा स्वाश्रमं हृष्टमानसः । सर्गं चकार बहुधा मानसं मम चाज्ञया

Brahmā said: “Dakṣa, the Prajāpati, returned to his own hermitage with a delighted mind; and by my command he brought forth creation in many ways—through mental (subtle) emanation.”
Brahma
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadyojāta
Cosmic Event: secondary creation (prajāsarga) through Prajāpati under Brahmā’s ordinance
It highlights that cosmic activity (sarga) proceeds under divine ordinance, reminding the seeker that the world-process is governed and purposeful—ultimately meant to lead the soul (paśu) toward right understanding and liberation under the Lord’s supreme order.
Though the verse speaks through Brahmā and Dakṣa, it sets the narrative ground for Shaiva teaching: creation and its authorities are subordinate to the higher reality of Śiva (Pati). Linga worship centers the devotee on that supreme Lord beyond and within the created order.
A practical takeaway is to cultivate “manasa” purity—mental worship (mānasa-pūjā) with the Panchākṣara mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” supporting disciplined intention so one’s actions align with dharma and divine command.
