Gotra–Pravara Inquiry and Proclamation of Auspicious Time
यस्यैकदिवसे शैल ब्रह्मकोटिर्लयं गता । स एव शङ्करस्तेद्य दृष्टः कालीतपोबलात
yasyaikadivase śaila brahmakoṭirlayaṃ gatā | sa eva śaṅkarastedya dṛṣṭaḥ kālītapobalāta
O Mountain, in a single day, in whom crores of Brahmās dissolve into laya—He alone is that Śaṅkara, whom you have seen today by the power of Kālī’s tapas.
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
The verse proclaims Śiva as the supreme Pati (Lord) beyond cosmic cycles—so vast that even countless Brahmās dissolve within His time—yet He becomes directly knowable through grace awakened by sincere tapas and devotion (bhakti).
Although Śiva transcends creation and dissolution, He grants approachable Saguna darśana to devotees; this supports Linga-worship as a concrete, grace-filled means to relate to the transcendent Lord in ritual and contemplation.
It highlights tapas supported by mantra-japa and focused devotion—practically expressed as daily worship of Śiva (Linga-pūjā), Panchākṣarī japa (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), and disciplined vows leading to inner steadiness and divine darśana.
