Menā too—beloved of the noble Himācala—was with those groups of women. Then she rose and went into the inner part of her own residence.

Tattva Level: pashu
Sthala Purana: Domestic palace movement at Himācala’s residence; not tied to a Jyotirliṅga origin episode.
Significance: Highlights maryādā (auspicious household protocol) before divine reception; for devotees, purity and inner preparation precede darśana.
Role: nurturing
It shows dhārmic order and composure in the household of Himācala: even in sacred narratives, devotion (bhakti) is supported by discipline, modesty, and proper conduct—preparing the ground for higher Shaiva events to unfold.
Though the verse is narrative, it situates the Parvatī-lineage setting where Saguna Shiva devotion matures—Parvatī’s household context becomes the field in which vows, worship, and later union with Shiva are framed.
An implicit takeaway is śauca (purity) and inner preparation: before puja or japa (such as the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), one should retire inward—cultivating quietness and readiness for worship.
