मेनायाः क्रोध-विलापः — Menā’s Lament and Reproach
to the Sage
हाहाकारो महानासीत्त स्मिन्काले मुनीश्वर । सर्वे समागतास्तत्र क्रमात्तत्सन्निधौ सुराः
hāhākāro mahānāsītta sminkāle munīśvara | sarve samāgatāstatra kramāttatsannidhau surāḥ
O best of sages, at that time a great outcry arose. Then all the gods, one after another, assembled there and came into that presence.

The verse highlights how cosmic disturbance draws all beings—especially the devas—toward the sacred presence where Shiva’s will is unfolding, underscoring Shaiva Siddhanta’s view that order is restored when beings align with Pati (the Lord).
Although the Linga is not named here, the devas gathering ‘to that presence’ reflects the Purana’s recurring motif: in moments of upheaval, gods seek refuge in the manifest (saguṇa) locus of Shiva’s grace—often expressed elsewhere as approaching Shiva, his abode, or a sacred emblem such as the Linga.
The practical takeaway is to respond to inner ‘tumult’ by turning toward Shiva through steady remembrance—japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and calm, ordered approach to worship (kramāt), rather than panic.
