FAQs

The verse highlights sacred geography: the Himalaya (and Mandara) is portrayed as a divinely endowed realm fit for Shaiva līlā, where dharma and devotion mature—an outer symbol of the inner ascent toward Śiva, the Pati (Lord) who grants grace and liberation.

By glorifying the Himalaya as a sanctified abode, the text frames the setting where Saguna Śiva’s narrative acts unfold; such holy places become supports for devotion, pilgrimage, and temple/Liṅga worship that steady the mind and turn it toward Śiva’s presence.

The implied takeaway is tīrtha-smaraṇa and pilgrimage-minded devotion: remember or visit Śiva-associated sacred places while practicing japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), with purity of conduct—optionally supported by vibhūti (tripuṇḍra) and rudrākṣa as Shaiva aids.
