There he caused wells to be made—filled with śaṣkulī cakes, svastika-shaped sweets, and sugar; and also with sugarcane juice, nectar-like as amṛta.

The verse highlights devotional abundance expressed through sacred hospitality—creating inexhaustible provisions as an outward sign of inner bhakti and reverence aligned with Shiva’s dharma of compassion and support for devotees.
Such lavish, sattvic offerings reflect Saguna Shiva worship where devotion is embodied through upacharas (services). The spirit is not mere indulgence but honoring Shiva’s presence in sacred rites and in those who partake as prasad.
Offer naivedya (pure food) and distribute prasad/charity in Shiva worship—especially on Mondays or Mahashivratri—while remembering Shiva with the Panchakshara mantra, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya.”
