शिवशिवयोर्जगत्पितृमातृत्व-प्रतिपादनं तथा मेनायाः विमोहः (Śiva–Śivā as Cosmic Father and Mother; Menā’s Delusion and the Sages’ Intervention)

And the Prakṛti that arises from Śiva assumes a threefold embodiment. In creation, She manifests playfully (līlā) by a portion (aṁśa), and also in many ways through Her powers and phases (kalā).

Tattva Level: pasha
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Sthala Purana: Not a site-legend; it articulates emanation: Prakṛti (a form of Śiva’s śakti) assumes tri-fold embodiment and diversifies through kalās in the creative act.
Significance: Supports contemplation of Śiva-Śakti as the source of cosmogenesis; encourages seeing prakṛti’s evolutes as sacred yet binding unless transmuted by grace.
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: creative
Cosmic Event: cosmogony (sṛṣṭi) via śakti’s kalā-bheda
It teaches that creation is not independent material chance: Prakṛti is Śiva-sambhavā—arising from Śiva—and her many manifestations (kalā, aṁśa) are expressions of divine līlā, while Śiva remains the supreme Pati beyond limitation.
Linga worship centers on Śiva as the transcendent source from whom Śakti/Prakṛti proceeds. Seeing the world as Śiva’s power helps the devotee move from outward forms (saguṇa manifestations) to the formless reality indicated by the Linga.
Meditate with the Pañcākṣarī—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—contemplating that all changing kalās of the world are Śakti, while the witnessing consciousness is Śiva; offer bhasma/tripuṇḍra and japa as a reminder of detachment from Prakṛti’s transformations.
