तारकवाक्य-शक्रविष्णुवीरभद्रयुद्धवर्णनम् — Account of Tāraka’s declarations and the battle involving Śakra (Indra), Viṣṇu, and Vīrabhadra
सगणश्चैव देवास्ते गंधर्वोरगराक्षसाः । हाहाकारेण महता चुक्रुशुश्च मुहुर्मुहुः
sagaṇaścaiva devāste gaṃdharvoragarākṣasāḥ | hāhākāreṇa mahatā cukruśuśca muhurmuhuḥ
Then those devas, with their attendant hosts—together with the gandharvas, nāgas, and rākṣasas—again and again cried out loudly in a great wail of “hā hā,” overwhelmed by the intensity of what was unfolding.

It depicts how even exalted beings become shaken when divine events surpass ordinary comprehension, pointing the seeker toward humility and śaraṇāgati (surrender) to Pati—Lord Shiva—who alone remains the steady refuge beyond fear.
The loud lament of many classes of beings highlights the need for a tangible refuge in Saguna Shiva—often approached through Linga worship—so the mind can anchor in devotion when the world appears unstable, gradually opening to Shiva’s transcendent (Nirguna) reality.
A practical takeaway is steady japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with calm breath, and offering bhasma (Tripuṇḍra) remembrance—training the mind to remain composed and devoted rather than panicked amid disturbing circumstances.
