मा भूयाद्भवतां प्रीतिश्शिवपूजादिकर्मणि । शिवनिष्ठेषु भक्तेषु शिवपर्वसु सर्वदा
mā bhūyādbhavatāṃ prītiśśivapūjādikarmaṇi | śivaniṣṭheṣu bhakteṣu śivaparvasu sarvadā
May your devotion ever increase in acts such as the worship of Lord Śiva—always, in the company of devotees firmly established in Śiva, and on sacred festivals dedicated to Śiva.
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Paśupatinātha
Sthala Purana: General injunction toward Śiva-pūjā and Śiva-parvas (Śiva-festivals); not tied to a single jyotirliṅga episode in this verse.
Significance: Saṅga with śivaniṣṭha-bhaktas and observance of Śiva-parvas is presented as a direct enhancer of prīti/bhakti, a classic Siddhānta upāya for ripening the paśu toward grace.
Offering: pushpa
It teaches that bhakti should be continually nurtured through three pillars: regular Śiva-pūjā (right practice), sat-saṅga with Śiva-niṣṭha devotees (right association), and observance of Śiva’s sacred days (right timing). In Shaiva Siddhanta terms, these disciplines reduce pāśa (bondage) and mature the soul’s love for Pati (Śiva).
‘Śiva-pūjā’ naturally includes Liṅga-arcana—offering water, bilva leaves, mantra-japa, and reverent service to Saguna Śiva as the accessible form of the Supreme. Through Saguna worship performed with devotion, the aspirant is led toward realization of Śiva’s transcendent nature while remaining grounded in scriptural ritual.
Perform daily Śiva-pūjā with Panchakshara japa (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), seek the company and service of Śiva-bhaktas, and observe Śiva-parvas (especially Mahāśivarātri and monthly Pradosha) with vrata, abhiṣeka, and focused remembrance of Śiva.
