kathaṃ priye duḥkhitāsi na duḥkhaṃ kuru pārvati | āyāsyati sutaḥ subhrūstyajyatāṃ duḥkhamutkaṭam
“Beloved, why are you sorrowful? Do not grieve, O Pārvatī. The son will surely return, O fair-browed one—therefore abandon this intense anguish.”
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: nurturing
It highlights Shiva’s role as the compassionate Pati (Lord) who dissolves the pashu’s (individual soul’s) sorrow through assurance and grace, teaching steadiness, faith, and surrender rather than agitation.
The verse reflects Saguna Shiva’s accessible, personal compassion—devotees approach the Linga not only for boons but for inner pacification, trusting Shiva’s timing and benevolent will (anugraha).
A practical takeaway is japa of the Panchakshara “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” with calm breath and trust, offering mental sorrow into Shiva (as Linga) and cultivating patience as a form of bhakti-sādhana.
