bhaktānāmaprayatnena dṛśyamīśvaramavyayam | brahmendraviṣṇurudrādyairapi devairagocaram
To His devotees, the imperishable Lord is beheld effortlessly; yet even to the gods—Brahmā, Indra, Viṣṇu, Rudra and the rest—He remains beyond the reach of perception.
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Īśāna
Role: liberating
Offering: pushpa
It teaches that Shiva (Pati), though transcendent and beyond sensory grasp, becomes directly knowable through devotion and His grace—bhakti dissolves the bonds (pāśa) that limit perception.
Though Shiva is ultimately beyond form (agocara), He compassionately accepts approachable forms such as the Linga; sincere bhakti to the Saguna symbol becomes the doorway to realizing the imperishable, transcendent Lord.
Emphasize bhakti-centered japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with steady remembrance; worship the Linga with humility, letting grace—not mere intellectual effort—be the means to inner vision.
