“That Śambhu who is the Self of all—He is I; I am that Śiva.” Thus indeed is the purport of all sacred statements, proclaimed by Śiva through Vāmadeva.
Lord Shiva (teaching conveyed through Vāmadeva; narrated in the Kailāsa-saṃhitā context)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Vāmadeva
Mantra: so'haṃ sa śivo'smyaham
Role: teaching
It declares the highest contemplative recognition that the all-pervading Lord Śiva (Pati) is the inmost Self sustaining all beings; by Śiva’s grace, the seeker realizes unity in consciousness—moving from limited ‘I’ to the Śiva-centered awareness that grants liberation.
The Liṅga and Saguna Śiva are supports for devotion and concentration; through worship, the mind becomes purified and fit to grasp the deeper import that the worshipped Lord is not separate from the innermost Self—Śiva as the indwelling reality of all.
Meditative japa and contemplation of the bhāva ‘So’ham / Śivo’ham’ (anchored in Panchākṣarī devotion—Om Namaḥ Śivāya) is implied: worship outwardly with mantra and inwardly abide in Śiva-remembrance as the Self of all.
