Paramātma-Svarūpa-Nirṇaya: Strī–Puṃ–Napuṃsaka-Vicāra
Inquiry into the Supreme Self and Gendered Forms
स्वाभाविकी ज्ञानबलक्रिया चेत्यस्तुवन्मुदा । ज्ञानक्रियेच्छारूपं हि शंभोर्दृष्टित्रयं विदुः
svābhāvikī jñānabalakriyā cetyastuvanmudā | jñānakriyecchārūpaṃ hi śaṃbhordṛṣṭitrayaṃ viduḥ
Joyfully they praised that innate (power) which is of the nature of knowledge, strength, and action. For the wise know Śambhu’s threefold ‘vision’ (dṛṣṭi) to be manifest as knowledge (jñāna), action (kriyā), and will (icchā).
Suta Goswami (narrating the Kailāsa teachings to the sages, summarizing the doctrine of Śiva’s triśakti)

It identifies Śiva (Pati) as the source of three inseparable divine powers—knowledge, will, and action—through which bondage is removed and grace becomes effective; liberation arises when the soul’s faculties align with this triśakti.
In Linga worship, the devotee approaches Saguna Śiva as the accessible form of Śambhu whose triśakti operates in creation and in the devotee’s inner transformation—knowing Him (jñāna), choosing Him (icchā), and serving Him (kriyā).
A practical takeaway is japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with tri-fold contemplation: cultivate right understanding (jñāna), steady resolve toward Śiva (icchā), and disciplined worship/service (kriyā), such as daily Linga-abhiṣeka and Tripuṇḍra-bhasma remembrance.
