Sūta’s Return to Kāśī and the Observances of Bhasma, Rudrākṣa, and Tripuṇḍra

With true devotion, he worshipped Viśveśvara—Śiva, the beloved of Umā—together with their son and the Lord of the Gaṇas; and, bowing again and again, he repeatedly offered hymns of praise.
Suta Goswami
It presents bhakti as a direct means of grace: worship, praise (stotra), and repeated bowing purify the pashu (bound soul) and orient it toward Pati (Śiva), the Lord of all.
The verse emphasizes Saguna upāsanā—approaching Śiva as Viśveśvara and Umākānta—through concrete acts of pūjā and stuti, which in practice commonly include Linga-worship as Śiva’s accessible form.
Perform Śiva-pūjā with sincere devotion, recite hymns, and offer repeated namaskāra; as a complementary sādhana, japa of the Pañcākṣarī ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") while bowing is implied by the rhythm of praise and prostration.
