Mahāpārśva-vadhaḥ — The Slaying of Mahāpārśva (Angada’s Counterstrike)
निरीक्ष्यबलमुद्विग्नमङ्गदोराक्षसार्दितम् ।।।।वेगंचक्रेमहावेगमहाबाहुस्समुद्रइवपर्वणि ।
nirīkṣya balam udvignam aṅgado rākṣasārditam |
vegaṃ cakre mahāvego mahābāhuḥ samudra iva parvaṇi ||
Seeing the army distressed and harried by the rākṣasas, Angada—the mighty, broad-armed hero—unleashed his speed and force, like the ocean swelling on the tide of the full moon.
Observing the army oppressed by the Rakshasa leader, Angada, endowed with broad shoulders, exhibited his might speedily like the ocean on full moon days.
It highlights kṣātra-dharma: when allies are oppressed, a warrior upholds righteousness by protecting the host and acting decisively against adharma.
The swelling ocean imagery conveys an unmistakable, visible force—like satya, which becomes evident and compelling when the moment for action arrives, leaving no room for doubt.
