Mahāpārśva-vadhaḥ — The Slaying of Mahāpārśva (Angada’s Counterstrike)

te 'rditā bāṇavarṣeṇa mahāpārśvena vānarāḥ | viṣādavimukhāḥ sarve babhūvur gatacetasaḥ ||
Struck down by Mahāpārśva’s shower of arrows, those vānaras all turned despondent, their spirits shaken and their wits lost.
Angada who knew the vital parts, pierced into the middle of the breasts of the Rakshasa into the heart by his fist which was equal to Indra's thunderbolt.
Dharma includes steadiness under adversity. The verse shows how fear and despair can overtake even the righteous side, implying the need for dhṛti (fortitude) and trust in rightful leadership.
The vānaras are overwhelmed by Mahāpārśva’s assault and momentarily lose morale.
The coming need for courage and resilience—virtues that will be embodied by Angada as he responds.
