Hearing those words of their king, the rākṣasas—stricken with fear—nevertheless, by the royal command, urged on the others who remained steady.

On hearing the words of the king's order, the Rakshasas stricken with fear, unagitated, started thinking.

The verse highlights obedience to authority and duty under command: even when afraid, soldiers propel the collective action because the king’s order binds them to their role.

After the king’s command is heard, fear spreads among the rākṣasas, yet the chain of command functions and they urge one another toward action.

Steadfastness (avyagratā) under pressure—remaining composed enough to act despite fear.
