स तंशिरस्युपाघ्रायलक्ष्मणंकीर्तिवर्धनम् ।लज्जमानंबलात्स्नेहादङ्गमारोप्यवीर्यवान् ।।।।उपवेश्यतमुत्सङ्गेपरिष्वज्यावपीडितम् ।भ्रातरंलक्ष्मणंस्निग्धंपुनःपुनरुदैक्षत ।।।।

Transliteration

sa taṃ śirasy upāghrāya lakṣmaṇaṃ kīrtivardhanam | lajjāmānaṃ balāt snehād aṅkam āropya vīryavān || upaveśya tam utsaṅge pariṣvajyāvapīḍitam | bhrātaraṃ lakṣmaṇaṃ snigdhaṃ punaḥ punar udaikṣata ||

Translation

Then the valiant Rāma, in affection, kissed Lakṣmaṇa’s head, the increaser of renown. Though Lakṣmaṇa, modest, hesitated, Rāma out of love drew him onto his lap and seated him there; embracing his wounded brother, he looked upon him again and again with tender concern.
