This Saumitri—wise and dear to his friends—still bears the embedded shafts. Treat him so that he becomes fully well.
"O very wise Sushena! Treat Saumithri in such a way that this Lakshmana, loved by friends pained by the arrows pierced, will be relieved."
Dharma includes compassion and duty of care: even in war, tending the wounded promptly is righteous conduct and part of responsible kingship.
Rāma calls upon Suṣeṇa, the physician, to remove the embedded arrows and restore Lakṣmaṇa’s health.
Protective responsibility and humane leadership—Rāma prioritizes healing and the well-being of his closest ally.
