With the many hundreds of sharp arrows shot by those two and raining down, the quarters and the intermediate directions alike became thickly filled with arrows.
Many hundreds of pointed arrows falling in all directions and intermediate points spread all over.
The verse underscores the gravity of warfare: when conflict escalates, it affects all ‘directions’—symbolically, all spheres of life. Dharma requires restraint and right purpose, not mere capacity for destruction.
Arrows from both combatants fall everywhere, saturating the battlefield and the surrounding space.
Fearless engagement and endurance amid overwhelming danger.
