तस्यज्यातलनिर्घोषं स श्रुत्वाराक्षसाधिपः ।विवर्णवदनोभूत्वालक्ष्मणंसमुदैक्षत ।।6.89.2।।

Transliteration

tasya jyātalanirghōṣaṃ sa śrutvā rākṣasādhipaḥ |

vivarṇavadanō bhūtvā lakṣmaṇaṃ samudaikṣata ||

Translation

Hearing the thunderous sound of that bowstring, the Lord of the Rakshasas turned pale and fixed his gaze intently upon Lakshmana.

On hearing the sound of the bow string of Laksmana the Lord of Rakshasa became pale in face and looked at Lakshmana.
