Shloka 6.84.14

निकुम्भिला-यज्ञविघ्नोपदेशः (Counsel to Disrupt the Nikumbhilā Rite)

चैत्यंनिकुम्भिलांनामप्राप्यहोमंकरिष्यति ।हुतवानुपयातोहिदेवैरपिसवासवैः ।।।।दुराधर्षोभवत्येषसङ्ग्रामेरावणात्मजः ।

vānarān mohayitvā tu pratiyātaḥ sa rākṣasaḥ |

māyāmayīṃ mahābāho tāṃ viddhi janakātmajām ||

That rākṣasa, having deluded the Vānaras, withdrew. O mighty-armed one, know that this “Janaka’s daughter” shown here is but a fabrication of māyā.

"Ravana's son will be reaching a sanctuary named Nikumbhilam and doing a sacrificial ritual. On returning from there it will be difficult even for Indra and Devas to be at him in war. He has done this conjuring trick.

After Indrajit’s deceptive display meant to break morale, Vibhīṣaṇa tells Rāma that the apparent harm to Sītā is an illusion.

Vibhīṣaṇa’s truth-bearing guidance and Rāma’s need for dhī (discernment) amid emotional shock.
