त्र्यशीतितमः सर्गः (Sarga 83) — Hanumān Reports Sītā’s ‘Slaying’; Rāma Collapses; Lakṣmaṇa’s Counter-Discourse on Dharma and Artha
दृष्टापथिहनूमांश्चतदृक्षबलमुद्यतम् ।नीलमेघनिभंभीमंसन्निवार्यन्यवर्तत ।।6.83.6।।
dṛṣṭā pathi hanūmāṁś ca tad-ṛkṣabalam udyatam | nīlamegha-nibhaṁ bhīmaṁ sannivārya nyavartata ||6.83.6||
Seeing on the road that fearsome bear-force, poised to fight and dark as a blue cloud, Hanūmān restrained them and turned them back.
Hanuman seeing the terrific army of Bears marching like a dark cloud asked them to return and he also returned with them.
Restraint and disciplined command: even in war, forces must be directed wisely, avoiding rash escalation.
A bear contingent is moving to engage; Hanūmān halts and redirects them, likely to report urgent news first.
Prudence and leadership—controlling allies for a higher strategic and moral purpose.
