इन्द्रजित्-हनूमद्-युद्धं तथा निकुम्भिलायां होमः (Indrajit vs Hanuman; Indrajit’s Nikumbhila rite)
तमिन्द्रजितमप्राप्यरथस्थंसहसारथिम् ।विवेशधरणींभित्त्वासाशिलाव्यर्थमुद्यता ।।।।
tam indrajitam aprāpya rathasthaṃ sahasārathim |
viveśa dharaṇīṃ bhittvā sā śilā vyartham udyatā ||
But that rock, hurled with great force, did not reach Indrajit seated on the chariot with his charioteer; splitting the earth, it sank into the ground, raised in vain.
That rock hurled by Hanuman failed to reach the chariot in which Indrajith was seated and also the charioteer. It cleaved the earth and entered.
The verse reflects the uncertainty of outcomes in conflict; dharma emphasizes perseverance and right intention even when immediate efforts do not succeed.
Hanumān’s projectile misses Indrajit’s chariot due to evasive driving and embeds into the earth after splitting it.
Persistence in righteous struggle—setbacks do not end the commitment to protect and oppose wrongdoing.
