इन्द्रजितो मायासीतावधः — Indrajit’s Illusory Sita Episode and Hanuman’s Rebuke

वानराश्शुश्रुवुश्शब्दमदूरेप्रत्यवस्थिताः ।व्यादितास्यस्यनदतस्तद्दुर्गंसंश्रितस्यतु ।।।।

vānarāḥ śuśruvuḥ śabdam adūre pratyavasthitāḥ | vyāditāsyasya nadataḥ tad durgaṃ saṃśritasya tu ||

The vānaras, stationed not far away, heard the roar of him who cried out with gaping mouth, having taken refuge in that hard-to-reach stronghold.

The sound of his roar was heard by the Vanaras waiting for war standing not far from there, which was difficult for Indrajith to access.

Dharma in war includes steadiness under intimidation; the verse sets the psychological pressure that tests the vānaras’ courage and fidelity to Rāma’s cause.

After Indrajit’s display, his roar carries to the vānaras positioned nearby, intensifying confusion and fear.

The virtue at stake is vīrya (courage) allied with dharma—standing firm despite threatening sounds and apparent catastrophe.
