इन्द्रजितो मायासीतावधः — Indrajit’s Illusory Sita Episode and Hanuman’s Rebuke

तद्वानरबलंदृष्टवारावणिःक्रोधमूर्छितः ।कृत्वाविकोशंनिस्त्रिंशंमूर्ध्निसीतामकर्षयत् ।।।।

tad vānarabalaṃ dṛṣṭvā rāvaṇiḥ krodha-mūrchitaḥ | kṛtvā vikośaṃ nistriṃśaṃ mūrdhni sītām akarṣayat ||

Seeing that vānara force, Rāvaṇi—overcome by a swoon of anger—drew his sword and seized Sītā by the hair at her head.

Indrajith saw the Vanara army coming towards him, deluded with anger, unsheathed the sword and touched Sita's forehead.

Adharma is marked by violence against the defenseless: rage turns into sacrilege when a warrior threatens a captive woman to break an enemy’s resolve.

As the vānaras surge forward, Indrajit responds by escalating the deception into a direct threat against Sītā.

By contrast (negative emphasis), the verse highlights the absence of kṣānti (restraint) and the collapse of warrior-ethics in Indrajit’s conduct.
