Shloka 6.76.66

युद्धे अङ्गद-मैन्द-द्विविद-राक्षसयुद्धम्; कुम्भस्य प्रादुर्भावः तथा सुग्रीवेण पराभवः (Sarga 76: Angada and the Vanara chiefs battle Kampana, Prajaṅgha, Yūpākṣa, Śoṇitākṣa; Kumbha enters and is checked by Sugrīva)

तांछादयन्तीमाकाशंवृक्षवृष्टिंदुरासदाम् ।।।।कुम्भकर्णात्मजश्शीघ्रंचिच्छेदनिशितैश्शरैः ।

tāṃ chādayantīm ākāśaṃ vṛkṣavṛṣṭiṃ durāsadām | kumbhakarṇātmajaḥ śīghraṃ ciccheda niśitaiḥ śaraiḥ ||

Kumbhakarṇa’s son swiftly cut to pieces with keen arrows that hard-to-approach shower of trees which covered the sky.

Frenzied Kumbhakarna's son was torn under the shower of trees that covered space with sharp arrows which was difficult to approach.

The verse is descriptive rather than didactic; ethically, it illustrates the relentless reciprocity of battle where skill is used to neutralize threats.

The enemy (Kumbha) destroys Sugrīva’s improvised tree-weapons mid-air with a rapid arrow barrage.

Kauśala (combat proficiency) and quick response.
