युद्धे अङ्गद-मैन्द-द्विविद-राक्षसयुद्धम्; कुम्भस्य प्रादुर्भावः तथा सुग्रीवेण पराभवः (Sarga 76: Angada and the Vanara chiefs battle Kampana, Prajaṅgha, Yūpākṣa, Śoṇitākṣa; Kumbha enters and is checked by Sugrīva)

Then the bull-like Vānara champions, with trees and rocks in their hands and eyes reddened by wrath, sprang forward to protect Aṅgada.

Bulls among Vanaras then took trees, and rocks in hand, with their eyes red in anger started for the protection of Angada.

Protective dharma: when a righteous ally is wounded, safeguarding him becomes a shared duty, expressing compassion and fidelity to the cause.

After Angada collapses, powerful vanaras rush in with improvised weapons (trees and stones) to defend him from further attack.

Comradeship and guardianship—placing another’s safety above personal glory in the midst of battle.
