लङ्कादाह-प्रचोदनं तथा वानर-राक्षस-समरारम्भः (The Burning of Lanka and the Outbreak of Battle)

घोरंशूरजनाकीर्णंमहाम्बुदरनिस्स्वनम् ।तद्दृष्टवाबलमायातंराक्षसानांसुदारुणं ।।।।सञ्चचालप्लवङ्गानांबलमुच्चैर्ननाद च ।

ghoraṁ śūra-janākīrṇaṁ mahāmbuda-raniḥsvanam |

tad dṛṣṭvā balam āyātaṁ rākṣasānāṁ sudāruṇam ||

sañcacāla plavaṅgānāṁ balam uccair nanāda ca ||

Seeing that dreadful army of the Rākṣasas—fierce, packed with warriors, and roaring like rolling thunderclouds—the hosts of the monkey-warriors surged forward and raised a loud cry.

Crowded with fierce warriors coming like thundering rainy clouds, the Rakshasas, and the monkey troops coming forward made loud noises with an elevated tone.
