इन्द्रजितः ब्रह्मास्त्र-यागः तथा वानरसेनाविध्वंसः (Indrajit’s Brahmastra Rite and the Crushing of the Vanara Host)

तेकेवलंसन्ददृशुशशिताग्रान्बाणान्रणेवानरवाहिनीषु ।मायानिगूढंतुसुरेन्द्रशत्रुं न चावृतंराक्षसमभ्यपश्यन् ।।।।

te kevalaṃ sandadṛśuḥ śaśitāgrān bāṇān raṇe vānaravāhinīṣu |

māyānigūḍhaṃ tu surendraśatruṃ na cāvṛtaṃ rākṣasam abhyapaśyan ||

In the battle the Vanara ranks saw only sharp-pointed arrows raining upon them; but the foe of Indra, hidden by māyā, could not be seen, though the missiles struck.

The Vanara troops saw only the sharp pointed arrows covering them. They could not see the enemy of Indra being concealed by magical power.

I
Indrajit (enemy of Indra)
V
Vanara army (vānaravāhinī)

The verse underscores the importance of satya (truth/visibility) in righteous struggle: when the aggressor is hidden by māyā, the fight becomes ethically distorted.

The Vanaras experience an invisible barrage; they perceive the arrows but cannot locate Indrajit.

The Vanaras’ alertness and perseverance are shown as they try to understand and respond despite confusion.
