This verse illustrates Kumbhakarna's immense physical prowess and arrogance (ahankara). By claiming he can destroy the cosmic forces of Death (Yama), Fire (Agni), and the Sun (Aditya), he attempts to instill confidence in Ravana regarding the war against Rama.

These deities represent fundamental cosmic forces—Death, Energy/Fire, and Light/Time. Kumbhakarna mentions them to demonstrate that his strength surpasses even the Lokapalas (Guardians of the Directions) and natural laws.
