कुम्भकर्णोपदेशः — Kumbhakarna’s Counsel and War-Boast to Ravana
अस्मिन्कालेतुयद्युक्तंतदिदानींविधीयताम् ।गतंतुनानुशोचन्तिगतंतुगतमेवहि ।।6.63.25।।
asmin kāle tu yad yuktaṃ tad idānīṃ vidhīyatām | gataṃ tu nānuśocanti gataṃ tu gatam eva hi ||6.63.25||
At this moment, let what is fitting be done now. Do not grieve for what is past—for what is past is truly gone.
"You may speak of only what is proper to do now. Do not think of the past as it is gone."
It points to practical resolve in crisis; however, dharma also requires choosing the right action now—not merely acting decisively.
Rāvaṇa dismisses retrospective debate and urges immediate action in the present situation.
Kāla-jñāna (sense of timing) is invoked—though in Rāvaṇa’s case it serves to shut down corrective counsel.
