कुम्भकर्णस्य प्रबोधनम् — The Awakening and Commissioning of Kumbhakarna
राक्षसानांसहस्रैश्चवृतःपरमदुर्जयः ।गृहेभ्यःपुष्पवर्षेणकीर्यमाणस्तदाययौ ।।6.62.2।।
rākṣasānāṃ sahasraiśca vṛtaḥ paramadurjayaḥ । gṛhebhyaḥ puṣpavarṣeṇa kīryamāṇastadā yayau ।।
Then, that warrior, exceedingly difficult to conquer, set out surrounded by thousands of Rakshasas, being strewn with showers of flowers from the houses.
Then, Kumbhakarna, who is very difficult to win over, walked violently surrounded by Rakshasas, covered with showers of flowers from houses.
Kumbhakarna is described as 'Paramadurjaya', meaning one who is exceedingly difficult to conquer or invincible in battle.
The shower of flowers from the houses signifies the deep respect and hope the citizens of Lanka held for Kumbhakarna as their protector against the enemy.
