Shloka 6.55.15

अकम्पन-प्रेषणम् तथा कपि-राक्षस-रणवर्णनम् (Akampana Dispatched; The Vanara–Rakshasa Battle and Omens)

तेषांयुद्धंमहारौद्रंसञ्जज्ञेकपिरक्षसाम् ।।।।रामरावणयोरर्धेसमभित्यक्तजीविनाम् ।

teṣāṃ yuddhaṃ mahāraudraṃ sañjajñe kapi-rakṣasām |

rāma-rāvaṇayor arthe samabhityakta-jīvinām ||6.55.15||

Then a most dreadful battle erupted between the monkeys and the rākṣasas—fighters who had staked their very lives for the cause of Rāma and, on the other side, for that of Rāvaṇa.

Vanaras and Rakshasas dedicated their lives for Rama and Ravana, respectively in that way were enraged and battle took place.

Loyalty and self-sacrifice gain moral value only when aligned with dharma: both sides show total commitment, but the Ramayana invites discernment between righteous and unrighteous causes.
