Some Vanaras, mangled by spears, streamed with blood; others, struck by clubs, fell upon the ground.

Tumultuous war took place between Vanaras and Rakshasas, striking one another, monkeys with terrible trees and Rakshasas with tridents and clubs.

V
Vānara (Vanaras)

It highlights the grave cost borne by those who uphold a righteous cause—dharma is not sentimental; it demands endurance and sacrifice in the face of suffering.

The combat becomes lethal: Vanaras suffer serious wounds from spear-thrusts and heavy blows, with many collapsing on the battlefield.

Kṣānti (forbearance) and dhairya (steadfastness) implied through the Vanaras’ continued participation despite injuries.
