Some rākṣasas were crushed to pulp by the vānara warriors who had conquered fear; others—blood-eaters—spewed blood from their mouths.

The verse contrasts fearlessness in dharmic duty with the collapse of adharma: courage and discipline enable defenders to overcome brutal aggressors.

In close combat, vānara fighters overpower rākṣasas; the scene emphasizes the intensity and physical toll of the battle.

Fear-conquest (jitakāśitva): steadiness under threat, a martial expression of commitment to a righteous cause.
