Shloka 6.51.7

धूम्राक्षप्रेषणम् (The Dispatch of Dhūmrākṣa)

ज्ञायतांतूर्णमेतेषांसर्वेषांचवनचारिणाम् ।शोककालेसमुत्पन्नहर्षकारणमुत्थितम् ।।6.51.7।।

jñāyatāṃ tūrṇam eteṣāṃ sarveṣāṃ ca vanacāriṇām |

śokakāle samutpanna-harṣa-kāraṇam utthitam ॥6.51.7॥

Find out at once what has arisen as the cause of joy among all these forest-ranging vānaras—joy appearing in a time meant for grief.

"For what reason are the Vanaras (rangers of woods) rejoicing that way in the time of grief? It may be found out speedily."

Satya as a pillar of dharma: leadership must seek accurate knowledge (intelligence) before escalating violence or making judgments.

Rāvaṇa, unsettled by the vānaras’ celebratory roar, orders that the reason for their joy be discovered immediately.

Inquiry (vicāra): the disciplined habit of investigating causes rather than acting on assumption.
