Shloka 6.51.2
धूम्राक्षप्रेषणम् (The Dispatch of Dhūmrākṣa)
स्निग्धगम्भीरनिर्घोषंश्रुत्वासनिनदंभृशम् ।सचिवानांततस्तेषांमध्येवचनमब्रवीत् ।।6.51.2।।
balena mahatā yukto rākṣasair bhīma-vikramaḥ |
tvaṃ vadhāyābhiniryāhi rāmasya saha-vānaraiḥ ||6.51.19||
“You of dreadful prowess—go forth, supported by a great host of rākṣasas, to slay Rāma together with his vānaras.”
Thereafter, hearing the loud and deep sounds of roaring and seeing his (Ravana's) ministers in the midst, he spoke as follows.
The verse illustrates adharma-driven command: leadership that pursues wrongful ends mobilizes power toward violence; dharma requires that authority be exercised for protection, not aggression.
Rāvaṇa orders Dhūmrākṣa to march out with a large rākṣasa force to kill Rāma and the vānaras.
On the opposing side, loyalty/obedience in warfare is invoked, but ethically misdirected; it contrasts with righteous service aligned to satya and dharma.
