Friend Rāghava—knower of dharma, compassionate even toward foes—I wish to take your leave; I shall depart as is fitting.
"My dear friend! I wish to take leave of you. Truly you are knower of what is right, and you are dear even to an enemy."
Dharma is defined as principled compassion: Rāma’s righteousness includes restraint and goodwill even toward enemies, without abandoning justice.
Suparṇa respectfully asks permission to depart after assisting and counseling Rāma.
Karunā (compassion) joined with dharma-jñāna (moral discernment).
