सुपर्णागमनम् (Garuda’s Arrival and the Release from the Serpent-Arrow Bond)
प्रकृत्याराक्षसाःसर्वेसङ्ग्रामेकूटयोधिनः ।शूराणांशुद्धभावानांभवतामरार्जवंबलम् ।।6.50.53।।
prakṛtyā rākṣasāḥ sarve saṅgrāme kūṭayodhinaḥ |
śūrāṇāṃ śuddhabhāvānāṃ bhavatām ārjavaṃ balam ||6.50.53||
By nature, all Rākṣasas fight with deceit in war. But for you—heroes of pure intent—straightforwardness (ārjava) itself is strength.
"Rakshasas by nature use tricks in war. For noble people with good nature guilelessness is strength."
Ārjava (straightforward integrity) is presented as dharmic strength—truth-aligned conduct is a moral power even when opponents rely on deception.
After identifying the deceptive nature of the attack, Garuḍa explains that Rakshasas commonly use trickery, while Rama’s side draws strength from purity and rectitude.
Ārjava (uprightness) and śuddha-bhāva (purity of intention), aligned with satya and dharma.
