युद्धलक्षण-निमित्तदर्शनं तथा लङ्काद्वारव्यूहः (War Omens and the Encirclement of Lanka’s Gates)
शैलशृङ्गाणिशतशःप्रवृद्धांश्चमहीरुहान् ।जगृहुःकुञ्जरप्रख्यावानराःपरवारणाः ।।6.41.29।।
tataḥ paścāt su-mahatī pṛtanā ṛkṣa-vānara-okasām |
pracchādya mahatīṁ bhūmim anuyāti sma rāghavam ||6.41.28||
After that, the vast host of bears and monkeys followed Rāghava, spreading out and covering the great expanse of ground behind him.
The monkeys who were of the size of elephants capable of warding off the enemy, bore huge grown up trees in their hands and went.
