युद्धलक्षण-निमित्तदर्शनं तथा लङ्काद्वारव्यूहः (War Omens and the Encirclement of Lanka’s Gates)

मेघाःक्रवादसङ्काशाःपरुषाःपरुषस्वनाः ।क्रूराःक्रूरंप्रवर्षन्तिमिश्रंशोणितबिन्दुभिः ।।6.41.14।।

rakta-candana-saṅkāśā sandhyā parama-dāruṇā |

jvalac ca nipataty etad ādityād agni-maṇḍalam ||6.41.15||

The twilight is most dreadful, glowing like red sandalwood; and from the sun there seems to fall a blazing circle of fire.

"The fierce clouds resembling wild birds are making terrible harsh sounds and rain mixed with drops of blood is showering."
