Virūpākṣa, with a great force armed with spears, swords, and bows, held a central formation within the city along with the Rākṣasas.

"Virupaksha stands in the middle of Lanka wielding spears, swords, bows and arrows accompanied by mighty army."

The verse highlights organized force; Dharma teaching emerges by contrast: organization is powerful, but righteousness depends on the cause it serves.

A major Rākṣasa commander (Virūpākṣa) is stationed in the city’s central battle formation.

Military organization and steadfast positioning.
