घण्टानांशृणुनिर्घोषंरथानांशृणुनिःस्वनम् ।हयानांहेषमाणानांशृणुतूर्यध्वनिंयथा ।।।।उद्यतायुधहस्तानांराक्षसेन्द्रानुयायिनाम् ।सम्भ्रमोरक्षसामेषतुमुलोरोमहर्षणः ।।।।
ghaṇṭānāṃ śṛṇu nirghoṣaṃ rathānāṃ śṛṇu niḥsvanam |
hayānāṃ heṣamāṇānāṃ śṛṇu tūryadhvaniṃ yathā |
udyatāyudhahastānāṃ rākṣasendrānuyāyinām |
sambhramo rakṣasām eṣa tumulo romaharṣaṇaḥ ||
Listen: the ringing of bells, the rumble of chariots, the neighing of horses, and a din like trumpet-blasts. Such is the tumult—hair-raising in its fury—of the rākṣasas, followers of their king, advancing with weapons raised.
"Listen to the bustle of noise of the Rakshasas lifting the weapons, ringing of the bells (of elephants), and rattling of chariots, and neighing of horses. Listen to the flourish of the trumpets. The happy Rakshasas are making tumultuous noise causing horripilation."
