O Rāvaṇa, join my head to his head and my body to his body; I will follow the path of my great-souled husband.

"O Ravana! Join my head with his and my body with his body. I will follow him in the same way."

The verse dramatizes single-pointed commitment to dharma through spousal fidelity: Sītā’s chosen ‘gati’ is to remain aligned with Rāma’s righteous course, even beyond life.

In the depth of grief and deception, Sītā asks Rāvaṇa to unite her with Rāma in death, imagining physical reunion as the only remaining resolution.

Loyalty and resolve: Sītā’s determination to ‘follow’ her husband reflects constancy under extreme suffering.
