Shloka 6.32.10
सीताविलापः (Sītā’s Lament over the Illusory Head and Bow)
दुःखाद्दुःखंप्रपन्नायामग्नायाश्शोकसागरे ।योहिमामुद्यतनिस्त्रातुंसोऽपित्वंविनिपातितः ।।6.32.10।।
duḥkhād duḥkhaṃ prapannāyā magnāyāḥ śokasāgare | yo hi mām udyatas trātuṃ so 'pi tvaṃ vinipātitaḥ || 6.32.10 ||
Sunk in an ocean of sorrow, I have fallen from one grief into another; and you—who rose up to rescue me—have yourself been struck down.
"I am in grief and filled with an ocean of sorrow. You who have come to save me and are also killed."
The verse highlights steadfast relational dharma—Sita’s fidelity and moral bond with Rama—expressed as grief when the protector who acts for dharma appears to fall.
In the battlefield context, Sita believes Rama has been struck down, and she laments that her would-be savior has fallen while she remains overwhelmed by sorrow.
